Tiger Update -- Dec. 8, 2006
Please post on your refrigerator for future reference!!!!
There are several reminders in this “Update.” This is a very busy time of year but these items are important for both you and your child/ren to remember.
Last day of School = Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2006
Return to School = Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2006
In January, sack lunches must be brought by students until the cafeteria begins service again on Jan. 8.
TSJC Lunch Cost will increase to $3.15 beginning Jan. 2, 2006
Progress reports for any student currently earning a grade of “D” or “F” will be mailed home on Monday, Dec. 11.
I had misinformation about when senior tuition was due when the Dec. issue of the Tiger Update was sent out at the beginning of this month. The Board will be re-discussing that issue since it seems to unclear whether the actual decision was made or only discussed last year. My sincerest apology for any concern that this has caused. Watch for news in the January Tiger Update issue.
There will NOT be a parent meeting on Sunday, Dec. 17.
There will NOT be committee chairperson report meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 12.
Plan on attending and/or participating in the 2006 Christmas Bazarre at Sebastiani Gym on Sunday, Dec.10 from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Parents will need to pick up the items from the Red Wheel Fund Raiser at 2:30 pm on Tuesday, December 12 at the TSJC CAFETERIA. Prizes will be awarded beginning at 2:30 and then students/parents can pick up their customer items. Thank you so much for your participation. It has been a huge success. Remember to keep the frozen goods frozen so your customers remain happy.
Each jr. & high school student is to bring a 12 pack of pop to Mrs. Massarotti by Monday Dec. 11. This is for the HTA Holiday Classic Tourney next Thursday, Friday, & Saturday. Your child should have given you a reminder letter about this event, our needs, and the Board of Education’s expectation of attendance/participation by the Jr. & Sr. High students. Jr. High and Sr. High attendance on Thursday and Friday will factor into the PE grade for the semester.
Please return the Survey identifying “why” you choose to send your child/ren to HTA by Monday Dec. 11. It is very important information to use in our grant applications.
Mrs. Marie Massarotti sent home a flyer with instructions for your children and the candy sales. It is very important to pay attention to her instructions and to follow her time lines. Thx!
The Elementary Christmas program was delightful. A standing ovation for Jean Rebello, and the ladies who helped our children to sing in four different languages!! Thank you also to Mrs. Marie Massarotti for the children’s costume preparation. Thank you to all who assisted in any manner to make this a wonderful evening. If you have pictures to share please contact Mrs. Tapia at 846-5900. She will be writing up a news article for the papers and would like to send pictures as well.
Kudos to our athletes for the great effort they are making in the LaVeta Tournment!!
Maverick Linnemeyer was named All Tournament Team member for the TSJC Basketball Tournament. Troy Micek was the high scorer with 39 points! Congratulations to both!
Final first semester exams are the week of January 8. Please encourage your child to study ahead. It is the teacher’s choice whether exams are comprehensive or only on the latest instruction.
Honor Role members will be published after the end of the 1st semester. Students are required to have 3.50 average to enjoy this honor. A student may receive an Academic Letter for 2 successive semester of being on the Honor Role.
HAVE A BLESSED and SAFE CHRISTMAS!

TIGER UPDATE – December 1, 2006
Welcome to December!!!! We hope you are enjoying the informational and entertaining HTA newsletter mailing that so many people are working hard to bring to you. We want to get the news to you any way that we can. You may still expect the calendar and news update at the 1st of each month. Then, depending on the day that the 15th falls , the mid-month update will also be sent home with your children.
We hope you heard via the grapevine about the good news at Sunday’s Nov. 19th meeting of parents and supporters. No wonder this wonderful little school has survived throughout the years!! There are parents who have full time jobs, children, and who are still willing to say “Yes” to the demands of creating, organizing, and staying up-to-date with income raising. Thank God for you!! The work being done could not be done by only a handful of people!
The elementary students have a wonderful program of song prepared for you on the 6th of December at 7:00 pm at Massari Hall. We hope to see you there!!
The students in the Spanish classes will be performing for the Kiwanas on Dec. 5th. Mr. DeBono’s Drama class will be performing for the Chamber of Commerce on Dec. 20. I will be representing HTA at both as a speaker.
Please see the calendar for sporting events. Mrs. Phyllis Massarotti is the woman to see about our own Lady’s Classic on Dec. 14, 15, & 16. Please volunteer your time to bake, take tickets, help with maintenance, clean-up, or any of the myriad of tasks associated with our biggest athletic fundraiser.
As part of our agreement with Sodexho, beginning Jan. 2, the cost of a cafeteria lunch will be $3.15. Please make a note of it for the future. This has nothing to do with our income raising efforts.
Tuition Reminders
-
All seniors’ tuition must be paid by the end of this semester which is Jan. 11 2007.
-
All other parents who pay by semester will have the second semester payment due Jan. 11, 2007
-
HTA monthly tuition policy is as follows:
-
Tuition is due on the 1st of each month; no statements are sent to parents
-
A late statement is sent out on the 10th and if you are receiving scholarship assistance, that scholarship money is null and void for that month.
-
After the 20th of each month, your child’s enrollment is in danger. If tuition remains unpaid by the 30th or 31st of that month, he/she is unenrolled on the 1st of the next month.
-
Kathryn Beich candy bars are now on sale for $1.00 each. Your child has signed for a box of 40 bars with which to begin selling. Watch for the date to return monies collected or bars that have not been sold. Please supervise your child carefully as one or the other must be returned.
So many in the community, especially local businesses, are supporting our income raising efforts. We are encouraging our parents to shop locally in return.
Reminder: Our last school day in December is Wednesday, Dec. 13. We return to school on Jan. 2 not Jan. 3.
Have a blessed Christmas season!
